'Britain and the Century of the International Civil Servant: the Legacy of Sir Eric Drummond'
This BAFUNCS/UNA Westminster event took place at the QE2 Centre, Westminster on Thursday, 28 November.
The meeting was chaired by The Rt. Hon. Lord Malloch-Brown, Former United Nations Deputy Secretary-General. The speaker was Professor Patricia Clavin, Professor of International History, Jesus College, University of Oxford. David Macfadyen, BAFUNCS member and Lead Author of the recently published book about the League's first Secretary-General, gave a response. UK plans for UN@ 75 were outlined by UNA Westminster Chair, David Wardrop. Former BAFUNCS President Edward Mortimer made the closing remarks.
Several BAFUNCS members attended the talk, which was scheduled to take place in the House of Lords. In the event, the venue had to be changed to the near-by QE2 Centre, for reasons beyond the control of the organisers.
