We are pleased to announce that, in a change to the originally advertised programme, Sir Mark Lowcock KCB will now be the principal guest speaker at the Association's forthcoming Annual Reunion in York, 23-25 May.
Sir Mark served as Permanent Secretary in the UK's Department for International Development (DFID from 2011 to 2017 before taking up the post of UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator until 2021. Sir Mark has had a long career in international development, serving overseas as well as in London and New York. He has much in common with UN veterans but also a fresh and recent perspective on the UN System at work around the world.
On Tuesday morning 24 May, participating members in York will therefore have the opportunity to hear Sir Mark in conversation with our President, Sir Kieran Prendergast. They will have no doubt much to discuss.
